All Bleached Out

Teenage girls think its a good idea to bleach their hair to death, when really they don't know they harm, or the bad look behind it. If you are naturally not a blond and decide to bleach your hair to make you one, it could look unnatural for your skin tone. In addition to that, sooner or later your dark roots are going to show through causing an unsightly scene. According to an article from Livestrong.com " Bleaching your hair strips the moisture from each strand. It also causes discoloration of the scalp ,and breakage in the cuticle causing it to fall out." So why do girls bleach their hair? No one in society has an explanation on why girls do this, but if you stay your natural color, or just add a few highlights its a much more safe and all around better looking solution.

This line of clothing became popular about four years ago, but recently has been exploding with a  new line of yoga pants and yoga capri's with cute waistband patterns! Everywhere you look, girls are wearing these yoga pants because their comfy and casually stylish! As the weather heats up, you don't want to be wearing pants all day long, so fortunately PINK has made capri yogas which are a must have!The all time favorite PINK item of clothing is of course the zip - up sweatshirts with the famous phrase" Love Pink". Although summer is here and it's too hot for a sweatshirt, they are great to just throw on over a bathing suit or with a pair of shorts on a cool summer night! Some of their items may seem a  little pricey, but you'll fall in love and the quality is great!

Hoops I did it again

No more little stud earrings, or cute little hoops. Hoop earrings have become large enough now to wear as  a bracelet.. is this okay? i think big hoop earings can make or break an outfit! If you get them too big, and wear with the wrong clothing people can get the wrong message about you, so be careful how you want yourself perceived! But overall, big hoops and medallion earings are HUGE in fashion today and i suggest in investing in a pair. Also take note as to how heavy the earing is, because too heave could tear your earlobe, which you most definitely do not want!

What's on your pod?

Teenagers in America have grown up listening to bubble gum pop music, boy bands, and trashy rap. This music is constantly bought on i-tunes and uploaded onto teens ipods.But recently, country music has taken the music media by storm. New, younger country stars are coming onto the music scene and writing songs with a deeper meaning than any of Lil Wayne's or the Jonas Brothers songs have, and these songs are meant for and relate to teens! Country music is pure and talks about the hardships and excitements of life. Taylor Swift, a country/pop crossover sensation has made country cool! Girls all around the world are humming her songs and take each of them to heart because she is so young that her personal stories relate to any girl growing up around the world! Also, as of May 25th, 2011; Scotty McCreery is the new winner of American Idol, and just happens to be all country! Scotty is a teen heart throb and i believe will convert more young adults everywhere to listening to country! It seems that a whole new generation of country music listeners will erupt! I personally love country music, and I'd take it any day over a one hit wonder rap song.

GLAD to feet you!

Gladiator sandals are the new "in" this summer for your feet. These sandals have many straps that criss cross across  your feet and up to your ankle and sometimes farther. I personally do not own a pair of these sandals because i believe they make you look shorter, but many teenage girls fill the school hallways with these leading the way. Howdy Yall !

Everyone's mad for plaid! The biggest stars in the media, your down home town, to your local super market everyone is wearing plaid! Plaid shirts made their big break in stores everywhere about four years ago and have been ever present since! These shirts come in every color combination imaginable, most in cotton, and some with the comfort of flannel. If you asked a stereotypical teenager, i will guarantee you they will own or have owned at some point in time a plaid shirt! Plus, the other great thing about these shirts is that they virtually go with anything, jeans no matter the color, your favorite pair of shorts, or a cute denim mini skirt! So the lesson learned here? Go invest in a plaid shirt, its worth the 20 bucks.

Jeans, Leggings, ... Jeggings?

Jeggings are a new fashion trend that have changed the way people wear jeans. Love the look of jeans but hate the uncomfortable button or waist band? Love the comfort of leggings but want to make it a little more casual?, then jeggings are for you! I wouldn't recommend them for men as you can see how they look on Conan above.. But Jeggings are a definite must for any young woman for any style; dress them up or dress them down. Jeggings have the look of jeans from the pockets to the waist band and zipper with the look of denim, but their stretchy, its just as if you're in your favorite yoga pant! So girls, go out and try them for yourself, i highly recommend them!

Boys Love Tim

As you can tell from the video above, boys love their boots... Timberland work boots seem to be the new fashion for boys this year. Towards the end of 2010 it appeared that the majority of high school boys were sporting a new pair of shoes... well work boots. It didn't matter what style they were considered; whether they're sporty, "country", or even the Ralph Lauren wearer, they all seem to be coordinating a pair of work boots into their wardrobe. But the question is are these boots becoming a new everyday trend or something that should be left to your cowboys? Cody, a country boy from a suburban high school in New York says, " I wear them every weekend because i don't like to get my other shoes dirty, or sometimes to school. I think that kids who are just wearing them to fit in shouldn't cross their style and just wear what their used to wearing." Ken, a friend of Cody's has a similar opinion. " I wear my boots every single day, to school and working on my uncle's farm, anything else is uncomfortable to me. I think work boots should stay for country boys , not for preppy kids trying to follow the trends." Of course there will always be some controversy on who should wear them or not but if high school hall ways are any indication, your Nike kicks better make room for Timberlands.

Spring is in the Hair!

Spring is finally here, and flowers are showing up everywhere. It seems everywhere you look from fashion icons like Taylor Swift; to your every day peers, everyone is sporting flowers in their hair! These flower accesories are booming in stores everywhere. They come as clips , attached to headbands , or just your stereotypical flower behind the ear. These flowers are a definite must for your spring collection. Jess, a teenager from upstate New York, claims " I wear a flower in my hair ever single day, i feel like i'm missing something if i dont have one on. i prefer to use a flower clip instead of a head band because they hurt my head." At the latest fashion week, famous woman's go-to for fashion ; Maire Clair ,spots the hair flower as a must have to complete any outfit!

Are UGG's . . . Out?

Within the past five or six years, UGG boots have become a household name. These boots are a phenomenon with young women ranging anywhere from the age of eleven to thirty, or even older! These boots come in all different heights, colors, styles, and are filled with beautiful soft fur. It seems that every teenage girl in America owns at least one pair, disregarding their expensive status.
" Every girl i know has UGG's , its just a really big trend in our school." Says high school  junior, Madeleine from upstate NY.

But recently, it seems that new footwear has come to steal the show. Most know these boots as flat boots or over-the-knee boots. These boots are usually made of leather or suede and come just below or above the knee depending on how they are worn.
"UGG's used to be the "In" fashion that everyone wore to be in style, now their just something we wear". Says high school junior, Erin also from upstate NY. Flat boots are the new fashion forward. Nicole Polizzi, Better known as "Snooki" from the popular MTV series Jersey Shore, says she likes to wear UGG boots with leggings while keeping things casual or running errands according to her interview with Stylelist.com.
